THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PREACHING AND TEACHING

The difference between PREACHING and TEACHING is that preaching is unto “receiving”, and teaching is unto “releasing”.

1. Through preaching we “receive” SALVATION (through evangelism).

2. Through teaching we “release” DESTINY (through discipleship).

Which is to release the destiny locked up in “the seed of life” deposited at salvation. Which is the call of discipleship to release the destiny founded upon the cornerstone of salvation. Being the “three stage” call of Proverbs 24:3-4 of filling the rooms of the house with the precious and rare treasures that are the mature sons of God waiting to be revealed before all creation (Romans 8:19).

Which is why the word of God says “many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14). For whilst many are called to discipleship, few hearken the call. For many are comfortable to rest at salvation, and to not press on to the prize of the upward call of God “in Christ” (Philippians 3:14). Being the upward call of God of discipleship through “the finished work of His Son”. For is it not written that Jesus said: “My will is to do the will of My Father and TO FINISH THE WORK that He started”? (John 4:34).

The work that the Father started, which is the work of the fall, will only be finished when those who are in Christ are restored to the prize of the upward call of God in Christ. Which is the prize of the upward call of being restored once more to “dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, and to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in His temple” (Psalm 27:4) reserved only for those who finish the race.
