THE "NEW GOSPEL" ACCOMODATES "THE PHAROAH OF SELF"
One of the accommodations of the "new Gospel" Paul speaks of is the accommodation of man's aversion for "self-denial" - the new gospel doesn't require you to die to self - which is the expected cost of the Cross.
The Word says he who seeks to save his life shall lose it in Matthew 16:25 and Luke 17:33. We need to pay the price of the Cross, which is to go THROUGH the Cross and deny ourselves, our flesh, our souls.
The new gospel accommodates the flesh and the soul and doesn't count it as a required cost - it takes you "to" the Cross but not "through" it. It doesn't bury you with Christ. It takes you to “forgiveness” but not to “righteous living”. It accommodates your sin by saying grace accommodates your sin, that grace is sufficient for your sin.
The Word says I want you to present your "bodies" (our flesh) as a living sacrifice in Romans 12:1. God still wants your heart and your flesh and your obedience. That's why 1 Thessalonians 5 speaks of presenting your spirit, soul and body blameless at the coming of the Lord. All three dimensions of our being require salvation.
Guard your hearts with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life, for in these last days we are forewarned many will turn away from the truth. Even the elect “ For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4
