Martha, Mary and Lazarus are deliberately yoked as a spiritual trinity by the LORD as an object lesson and message to His church.

     1. We all need to serve IN LOVE (Martha);

     2. We all need to relate IN LOVE (Mary);

     3. But in order to do that, we all need to die IN LOVE to the soul life (Lazarus) that represents the self-life independent of the life and conscience of God (being the fruit of the first or fallen nature).

Which is to present our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, that we may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2.

Lazarus represents our Adamic or fallen nature (desire-nature). Which is a nature birthed in choosing a life independent from God. Represented by eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Which is eating from the tree of the flesh by exalting the voice of the flesh as sovereign, preeminent and prominent. Meaning, it’s my way and truth and life.

Jesus allowed Lazarus to die as an object lesson because for us to serve fully in love and relate wholly in love, our Adamic nature has to first be crucified within us. Jesus waited so that RESURRECTION LIFE could come and Lazarus be released back into true life from all that bound him in the grave of his Adamic nature. "And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go." - JOHN 11:44.

When Jesus takes away, He always gives us something better in return. The "second nature", of the last Adam, bequeathed by the RESURRECTION LIFE, is infinitely better than the first nature inherited from the first Adam. Which is the divine nature. Which is to live and walk in the eternal power of the nature of perfect love. “then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.” Hebrews‬ ‭10:9.‬

At the same time, Jesus also deliberately stayed away from Lazarus for "two days" to be a further present day message for His church. The Church Age has now lasted for "two thousand years" (two prophetic days). We are at the end of this time, and those of His who have died to their self-life (Lazarus) are about to be loosed from all that hinders, so that they may both serve His will fully (Martha) and relate wholly (Mary), so that it can be fulfilled that "the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do" - JOHN 14:12.

Of all of His sons and daughters, may we all, like Lazarus, hear the trumpet decree of “Loose him! Let him go!” That we may all be part of the Isaiah 6:8 company of sons and daughters who say: “Here I am. Send me!”

“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits

for the revealing of the sons of God.”
