A PLACE FOR ALL THE COLOURS OF LIFE

In the pattern of the earth and the sun and the four seasons, the LORD has shown us a clear pattern as well as the answer to the reasons for that which we see unfold before our very eyes again and again as “the cycle of life” For in the model of the earth and the sun, do we not see a pattern for life of what happens in the season when the earth leans its axis away from the sun and turns its face away from its light? And do we not see the pattern of what happens in the season of life when the earth leans even closer and inclines itself upwards towards the sun? For is this pattern not the same pattern as the choice between the two trees in the Garden of Eden? Which is to choose between the soul and Spirit? Which is to choose between the government of self versus being lead by the Spirit (Romans 8:14)?

For the LORD would have that we heed the signs that He has graciously left as signposts throughout all His creation. For the earth represents man and the sun represents His Son. For is it not written “I am the Light of the world” (John 8:12)?. And is not the sun the light of the world? And does the earth not rotate around the sun? Am I not the brightest star, the morning sun (2 Peter 1:19; Revelation 2:28; Revelation 22:16)? For have I not patterned all of My creation to teach you one way from another? For is it not said of the earth and the animals and the birds and the fish in Job 12::7-9 that they shall teach and inform you? And does it not also say, “Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? (Job 12:9)? And does the living Word of God also not teach us, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:20)?

For just as when the earth turns on its axis away from the sun, when man turns away from Me, he grows cold and withers and loses his leaves and dies, and enters his deep winter. But when he turns to Me and seeks My face, he starts to produce new life and starts budding new shoots, and blossoms and flourishes. For does not John 8:12 also say, “Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but have the light of life“? Yet an unbeliever always does the opposite (John 1:5; 3:19–20). For even though the light shines in the darkness, the darkness of unbelief will never comprehend the light. What’s more is, like the earth in winter, he will always turn away from the light because light exposes his evil, and so he hates the light.

And in Matthew 5:14–16, we see believers depicted as the light of the world. For just as the moon has no light of its own, and merely reflects the light of the sun, so are believers to likewise reflect the Light of Christ so that all can see it in us. And of this light, is it not written that there is a season and a time for all things under heaven? “Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” John 12:35-36. So whilst we have the light, turn to the light, so that rather than being found in the winter of life, we may all be found in the summer. For the summer says, “Somewhere there is a place where all the colours of life say... I belong there."
