THE GREAT ANTIDOTE
Father God, in a broken world that shouts of need, we know that when it comes to need, You see and know need better than anyone else. For if You didn’t, why would You then send Your Son? You sent Your Son because Your Father heart knows a deep and raw need when it sees it.
For don’t You have an ear that hears the sighs that no one else hears? And don’t You have a heart that with extraordinary 20/20 vision, sees even the deepest and most hidden of all needs? And is this world not in great need? Is not everything about this world not screaming out loudly right now in deep and desperate need?
For has fear not consumed the world? And is the antidote for fear not perfect love? Does love not cast out all fear? There is no better antidote for the need in all of us than love. For is love not the fullness of joy? Is love not the fullness of peace? Is love not the fullness of goodness and kindness and faithfulness? Is love not the fullness of gentleness and patience and self-control?
And is it not written that against all these there is no law? For is the law not there to protect the interests of God and man? And does love, peace, joy, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, patience and self-control not preserve and promote and prosper the interests of God and man? Perfectly? So why then would there ever be a need for any law to regulate that which prospers all through love?
For love IS peace.
For love IS goodness.
For love IS kindness.
For love IS joy.
For love IS gentleness.
For love IS faithfulness.
For love IS patience.
For love IS self-control.
Father God, we ask and pray that Your love visit upon every need in a powerful way and personal demonstration for every nation and home. For the poverty of brokenness. For the poorly in spirit. For those with failing hearts and bodies. For those who ache from lack. For the homeless, the downtrodden, the destitute. For every orphan and widow.
For is it not written that signs and wonders shall follow them that believe? Which includes every prayer of them that believe. So wherever Your Spirit blows on the wings of our prayers, may the signs and wonders of perfect love follow everywhere Your Spirit may blow. May the low pressure cell of our raw need and our hollowness and emptiness usher in the rich and compressed fullness of Your refreshing touch and healing wind. Sweep across every nation and into every home, and may we all encounter, in our deep and secret need, the formidable antidote that is Your everlasting love.
Let love be our foundation.
Let love be our comprehension.
Let love be our experience.
Let love be our daily portion.
