THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK

“He SPOKE,

And there came swarms of flies,

And lice in all their territory.” ‭‭(Psalm 105:31‬)

Who is like You, LORD? (Psalm 89:8). There is none like You! (Jeremiah 10:6). For who but God can speak into the abyss of nothingness, and before your very eyes, it becomes that which He calls it to be? For who, by simply speaking, can call into existence that which doesn’t yet even exist? Is it not the living God, “the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were" (Romans 4:17)? For is it not written, “By faith we understand the universe to have been formed by the word of God, so that the things being seen have not been made from the things being visible.” (Hebrews 11:3)?

And if He is the one who can call into existence things that are not, can He not likewise also call out of existence those things that are as if they are not? Can He not call out of existence brokenness and shame? Can He not speak but a single word unto illness, and that mountain shall move into the sea? Can He not call out of our history every record of our sins (Isaiah 44:22)? With but a word uttered from His lips, does He not blot out all our iniquities, transgressions, trespasses and sins from His remembrance?

Of this great God, is it not written, “You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the earth.” (‭Psalm 104:30‬). And that, “You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.”‭‭ (Psalm‬ ‭104:29‬)? And is it not You, O mighty God, “Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.” (Psalm‬ ‭104:4‬)? Is not all the power of heaven and earth in the words that You speak? For is it not written, “It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63)?

For Your Word tells us, “He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth, And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man’s heart.” (‭‭Psalm‬ ‭104:14-15‬)‭.

“May the glory of the LORD endure forever; May the LORD rejoice in His works. He looks on the earth, and it trembles; He touches the hills, and they smoke. I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the LORD.”‭‭ (Psalms‬ ‭104:31-34‬).

“Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:

   * Who forgives all your iniquities,

   * Who heals all your diseases,

   * Who redeems your life from destruction,

   * Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

   * Who satisfies your mouth with good things,

   * So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (‭‭Psalm ‭103:1-5‬)
