THE CUPBEARERS

God's house shall be built. By the hand of God. Through a Nehemiah company of master builders. Being a company of all those who, as cup bearers of the burdens of Christ’s loving heart, lay their lives down as a living sacrifice by pouring out their love for the body through prayer and intercession. Being all those master builders who shall stand on the rampart and watch, and wait to hear what the Spirit of God shall say to them (Habakkuk 2:1).

For it is the desire of the heart of God that every broken, wounded, mistreated, abused and misplaced stone of the living city of God be restored to its perfect position and perfect posture according to the end-time “master plan” of the One who sees and decrees the end from the beginning. Being its very cornerstone.

For Isaiah 28:10 says: “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.” For is this not the model for how the living house of God shall be built? Precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little, there a little?

For God’s house shall be built. (2 Samuel 7:13). As His word never returns void. “He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.” (1 Chronicles 22:10). Which will be through a Nehemiah company of prayer warriors and intercessors who, before the living God, stand in the gap on behalf of all the land (Ezekiel 22:30), decreeing the sovereign counsel and perfect will of God over every last living stone. And with words that are both spirit and life, demonstrate their great love for their neighbours and for God, that all the law and the prophets may be fulfilled.

For is it not by faith that we understand that the worlds were formed by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible? For did Jesus not SPEAK with words to the sea and the wind: “Peace! Be still!” So too shall this Nehemiah company SPEAK with words that can move mountains, and soften hearts, like a soft word that breaks a bone (Proverbs 25:15).

For their delight shall be in the fear of the LORD: and they shall not judge after the sight of their eyes, nor reprove after the hearing of their ears (Isaiah 11:3). For just as Nehemiah was the Lord’s cup bearer, so too is every intercessor the Lord’s cup bearer.

For just as Jesus, the “master builder”, being one who is at the right hand of God, making intercession for us, who can’t just see people where THEY ARE, but where they are CALLED TO BE, we who call ourselves disciples, being those who model themselves on the example of Christ, must likewise help the entire body get to where it is called to be.

By being those who, like Nehemiah, declare: “Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, so that we may no longer suffer disgrace.’” (Nehemiah 1:17). Which begins with the seed of prayer sown upon the anvil of love so that, at the appointed time, it takes on life and become flesh. All to the glory of our great God on high.
