WHATEVER YOUR HAND FINDS

WHATEVER YOUR HAND FINDS TO DO

Have you ever taken a moment to stare into the deep and beautiful eyes of either a horse, or a dog, for example? The unmistakeable richness of love that stares back at you compels one to acknowledge that EVERY living thing has been weaved out of the deep care and love of the extravagant heart of the Father. And they RESPOND to love because in love they recognise the hands by which they were fashioned.

We can learn so much about God and about life from God's creation. Everything we see in the natural serves as a forerunner lesson to life, and to life abundantly, if we would just simply stop, take note, see and apprehend. For instance, God has created every living thing IN LOVE, from all kinds of flora to every example of fauna. Not a single piece of His masterclass workmanship has been made without the sumptuous fullness of His overflowing love. How is it possible then that we can respond to all that is living in any way but with the same love that oozed from the Father's heart when He created each and every thing?

At the same time, have you ever seen an animal that doesn't give 100% to the moment? They LIVE in the moment. They do not dwell on the mistakes and losses of the past. And they do not day dream of some better time in the future. They make the most of the present and what the current moment presents. Which is why a dog jumps for joy when you return to its presence, even if it was only ten minutes ago that it was jumping for joy to see you again. It does so with all its might. And in the same way, so too are we to not only LIVE in the moment, but we are to DEFINE that moment by doing whatever we do with ALL our might. "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might" - ECCLESIASTES 9:10

Also, if one takes another page out of their book, they don't live in the realm of INTENTION. They live in the realm of ACTION. They DO. They jump up and wag their tail and smile at you and lick you. They leave no doubt in your mind as to where they stand. They do not put off for tomorrow what they can do today, or this minute, or this moment. In the same way, if we have good to do, we need to do it today. "How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?” - PROVERBS 6:9. One "good deed" is worth more than a thousand "good intentions". Let love not sleep, nor flounder in good intentions, but let its tail wag with vigour and energy, and let its entire being jump up and down again and again, in pure delight for the moment, every moment. And rather than wait for the "right opportunity", let love do today whatever little things it can do, day by day.

And just as with our counterparts in life and creation, let's learn from them that the past is gone and the future has not yet arrived. We shall never have any time but the time present. Let us live and walk in the way and the truth and the life that is pursuing, prospering and promoting love, day by day. And let that be sufficient for us. Let that be our daily bread, and the daily bread of our neighbour, who we love as ourselves. God tells us "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself." - MATTHEW 6:24. And of the past, God says, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past" - ISAIAH 43:18. "But one thing I do: forget what is behind and straining to what is ahead, I press on towards the goal to win the prize to which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." - PHILIPPIANS 3:13.

"Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" - MATTHEW 6:27

Through our loving today, in action, not intention, by doing whatever we find to do day by day, we will find that very soon our lives become a living witness and testimony to "proving the good and acceptable and perfect will of the Father", which is, above all things, to PURSUE LOVE!

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen." - 1 TIMOTHY 1:17
