THAT WE MAY FILL THE ROOMS OF OUR HEARTS WITH RARE AND BEAUTIFUL TREASURES

Exhortations such as “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” place supreme value in the thought life. Solomon, the wisest of men, also wrote, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”. Jesus confirmed that sin's gravity lay in the idea itself, not just the act. Paul admonished the church at Philippi to have “the mind of Christ”, and to the same people he wrote, "Whatever is true … pure … if there be any virtue … think on these things."

Thus, the disciple of Christ must bear witness to the world and to the kingdom of God what it is not just to think, but to think rightly. For it is when we “think rightly” that we will then also “walk rightly”. And it is when we both think rightly and walk rightly (Galatians 5:25; James 1:22), which is to think not as man thinks, but to think as the One who “forever calls us higher” thinks, that we will walk not as man walks, but walk as He walks (Isaiah 55:8-9). Which is when we will learn to think according to the pattern and similitude of He who “lifts up a standard” against everything that exalts itself against the ways and thoughts and knowledge of God (Isaiah 59:19), that the kingdom that is “the heart of man” will then bring honour and glory in spirit and truth to the rightful King of all those lands.

Let us not shame our King,

And let us not shame this land of His which is our heart,

For He is the King of my heart,

And His is the kingdom of hearts.

Let us walk uprightly with His righteousness,

And steadfastly in His truth and love,

Forever impaled upon His way, His truth and His life, which is love,

With eagle eyes that see, not through the cataracts of the world, but with His all-seeing discernment and far reaching vision,

Which is to see the needs of orphans and the loneliness of widows,

And to have the vision of seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

And let us speak with tongues that speak not with the language and thought life of men,

But only with His all-knowing words of spirit and life,

That we may build this tabernacle in wisdom with rooms that are filled with rare and beautiful treasures through knowledge, wisdom and understanding.

Let our ways always be His ways,

And our thoughts always be His thoughts,

For we are His, He has won our complete affection and unshakable faithfulness,

And has honour-bound us to His bosom as a son unto his Father.

Establish Your rule in this kingdom, LORD, And fill these lands with the harvest of Your labour.

Let these lands be unto Your purposes like the basket of the five loaves and two fish,

Being a land that always multiplies for the needs and seasons of its neighbour,

Feeding the hungry and the poor,

And healing the broken-hearted,

And visiting upon widows and orphans Your great love and mercy,

That these lands may in all their ways and all their days honour the Spirit and life that frames and sustains them.

Now to the King, eternal, immortal, invisible, the ruler of our hearts, the only God, be glory and honour, for ever and ever. Amen.
