If it was ever possible to capture the formidable essence of who Jesus is in just a single sentence, it would be the ten words, "I am the way and the truth and the life." Not only do these few words eloquently summarise the entire substance of who God is, and what He stands for in a single statement, but arranged in that specific order, these words are also the most profound distillation of what LOVE is. Beyond any words that have ever been penned, they single-handedly coalesce into the greatest laudation of the blueprint that is DIVINE LOVE "expressed in action".

     These ten words are of themselves, and by themselves, a self-contained literary masterpiece. For what they say in a mere ten words, others have attempted with thousands of words to say equally as well. This single assembly of words stands out as the magnum opus to the entire heart and soul of Jesus. As a testimony, they succinctly summarise the very core of His extravagantly unique life. Three phrases. The WAY. The TRUTH. And the LIFE. Three phrases that, as a compilation, express the fullness of the meaning, and the hugeness of the accomplishment of His life, and all that IS life.

     In the ten word order, the "centre piece" upon which all that Jesus hinges on is "THE TRUTH." For at the heart of it all, or at the centre of it all, if God cannot be trusted, then there remains absolutely no trust anchor anywhere to anything at all. And all that is "the fabric of life" summarily collapses with the disappearance of that root trust anchor. The truth is therefore not only absolute and sacrosanct, it is also the very crux. It is, and always will be, the centre piece.

     On either side of the truth, flanking the truth, are "THE WAY" and "THE LIFE". They frame the truth. Together, they provide "the truth" with additional context. In other words, they distinguish and substantiate the truth. As an illustration of this point, it is true that if the TRUTH is presented in the incorrect WAY, it will never produce LIFE. For example, judgment. Which is the very reason why God, who IS the way and the truth and the life, admonishes all to never judge another. For it only produces death. Also, no matter how many WAYS you present what is not the TRUTH, it will also never produce LIFE. For example, a false religion, or a false gospel, or a false witness, or a false teaching, or a false prophet.

     So for LIFE to always ensue, it's very accomplishment is intrinsically and fundamentally dependent on the centre piece always being the TRUTH, and on the WAY always substantiating LIFE. And if so, the working trinity of phrases of who Jesus is, and what He stands for, also always glorifies LOVE. Which is also why the ten word statement is anchored with "I am". I AM: the way, and the truth and the life.

     "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." - EXODUS 3:14.

     As a working representation of the way and the truth that produces life, these three phrases portray the signature hallmark of LOVE. For the ultimate gain and final result of the way and the truth and the life carried out together will inevitably be LOVE. These three phrases, that perfectly describe the essence of who Jesus is, all place a combined and resounding emphasis on the truth that "LOVE IS AS LOVE DOES." Which is why it all begins with THE WAY. For the way we do things always matters.

     Being a Father who patiently teaches His children to first walk and then run, the three phrases that declare and demonstrate who Jesus is also serve to lay down for all of mankind a living model of that which we should all aspire to become and live by. As the sons and daughters of the Author of love, together these three phrases represent a role model example, and a standard of being, to which we as sons and daughters who want to honour our Father, should all be seeking to daily imitate and emulate.

     ABBA FATHER, that we may all know and learn Your WAYS, that we may all be grounded in Your TRUTH, and that we may all live and walk in Your love that produces LIFE. May we all live and walk in the way and the truth and the life that is You, so that in our representing and presenting Your ways, that Your name be hallowed, that in our lives Your will be done, and so that the truth that every one desires is for Your kingdom to come. Let Your ways be exalted. Let Your truth be personified and personalised. Let Your life be assimilated and apprehended. And let Your love be preserved and promoted. This we ask for all of mankind.
