RETURN TO ME

“This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to Me, and resting in Me, will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength."

Isaiah 30:15

And how is it that we return to You, LORD? For does Your Word not say, "Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God." Matthew 3:8. And do You not also declare, "Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away." Acts 3:19.

Wipe away our sins, my LORD my God. In quietness and confidence, let us find our strength. Let us prove by the way that we live that we have returned to You. Let us prove by the way that we live that we have repented, O LORD my God.

For does the living Word of God not declare: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14.

"For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death." 2 Corinthians 7:10.

So that we may return to You, Father, cleanse us of our wickedness. Wash us with the tears of our remorse, and the hand of Your forgiveness. And just like Your disciples, wash our feet.

Let us not be ashamed, nor may we disgrace the good name of Christ, nor undo His perfect work in us, but strive with all earnestness and petition, and obedience, in prayer and supplication, to walk in the purity of the righteousness that is Christ's alone who dwells in us, and us in Him. Which begins with You washing our feet so that they may forget their errant ways and find a new way to walk, which is in Your way.

May darkness depart from all the corners of our heart and our mind. May we be bleached white as snow by Your purifying and refining fire. May the sins of our youth not return, like a dog to its vomit, nor rise to overtake us, but instead, may our repentance be permanent, complete and whole.

May we leave no door open for the flesh or the enemy to regain a beachhead or foothold in the work which You are accomplishing in our life. Bury our old man completely, that the new Adam may have life in us and have it abundantly.

May we die that You should live. We are Yours, and You are ours. We betroth ourself to You, LORD. You are our first, and our last, our alpha and our omega.

From this day, may we turn forever from all sin, from our many sins, and may we never betray You ever again, for we are Your bride and You are our spiritual husband and Father. For what is to be said of a marriage that is not built on faithfulness of BOTH parties? YOU are forever faithful. Let the same thing now be declared of US.

Does Your Word not declare “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverted mouth, I hate.” Proverbs 8:13. And is it not written: “O you who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 97:10. We hate the sin in us. We hate the death and stain and stench of it. Circumcise our heart, and all that is in our life, so that whatever remains in us and of us belongs completely and entirely unto You.

Give us all a new wineskin that You may fill it with the new wine of the winepress of righteousness and integrity and holiness and purify. Let us not be of this world, but of the kingdom of righteousness.

May our feet never stumble, nor our heart ever waver. Let us not be unstable in all that we are, and all that we do, but be forever true and noble and bold in Christ.

Let us not be a muddied pool, but a crystal clear spring of life. Let the rivers of life wash over us, and may we surrender to the tides of Your grace and Your favour, and Your potters hand.

May we climb the seven stairs to Your perfect will being expressed and accomplished for our life. Let us not fail You. Forsake us not, but establish us in Your promises and Your blueprint for our life.

Restore what the devil has stolen. Return what my foolishness has cost. May our cup runneth over for You, being that our destiny be fulfilled in You, by You, through You, for You. For is it not written: “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.” Romans 11:36.

Be our strong shepherd and our strong tower. Lead us away from sin and into the arms of repentance, that You should be glorified, that You should gain. For what will You gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? How will You profit if my blood is shed, if I go into the pit? Psalm 30:9. Let us not die in our sins, but live in Your forgiveness and our repentance.

"What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness? Hear me, LORD, and have mercy on me. Help me, O LORD.” Psalms 30:9-10.

"What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?"

Save us LORD, and set us apart for Your good and acceptable and perfect will. "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2.

These things we ask and humbly pray and loudly thank You for, for me and all my own, for all who are Yours, for all our enemies, for all Your enemies, for all the lost, and all the found, in the hallowed and holy name of Jesus, amen and amen.
