What were the two prevailing spirits of the enemy at the time of Jesus? A religious spirit and a political spirit. Which sucked many people in and distracted many people from what Jesus came to do. God says test EVERY spirit. We need to guard our hearts that we don’t let either the religious spirit or political spirit of Jezebel suck us in and detract from what God is calling us to do.

Which is to stand by the position of us needing to know both the seasons and the times. Which is to know what spirits are leading the world and many world events. Being a world of which we are not a part. For we are IN the world but not OF the world. But to also guard our hearts by not letting ourselves get sucked into a political vortex that derails us from what the other Spirit is saying. Being the ONLY Spirit we should be listening to. Being THE Spirit.

Romans 8:14 tells us that the sons of God are those who are LED by THE Spirit, like a bull is led through a bullring in their noses. Which is by a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105). Jesus said to the political spirit in Peter, “get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” (Matthew 16:23). We need to have the political and religious spirits BEHIND us. That they are not a stumbling block to the concerns of God. Which means what? That we are always one step AHEAD of them. Which means we are NOT held back by a political or religious spirit. And NOT led by them either, but by THE Spirit.

LORD, lead us by our noses, that where You walk, we walk. Which is to be as those who have taken upon ourselves Your yoke (Matthew 11:29). Which, although it is to walk in lockstep with You, You lead, we follow. Just as those who have a yoke walk side-by-side, but there is always a lead in the ox yoke.

Our job is to not get sidetracked from our purpose. Which is to not get caught in the eddy’s of the political and religious currents, but to remain in the mainstream of the river of life that is the kingdom mandate of “the great commission”. Our purpose is to lock onto the target of being “like a voice in the wilderness, making straight the paths” for the coming of the Lord (John 1:23).

Which is what?

Which is to prepare His bride for when He comes.

Which is which coming?

When He comes as a thief in night to receive unto Himself His bride.

Why?

So that the Spirit and the bride may say to the great harvest that is to come, "Come!" (Revelation 22:17).
