AWAKE MY SOUL

The Word of God is many things. For one, it is the trust anchor of all truth. At the same time, it is the harbinger and herald of all life and love. As a hand-picked assembly of personally-crafted words, the Word is the single greatest feat of engineering to ever exist. For it is the master craftsman and principal engineer of human souls.

It is also the living architect and loving constructor of destinies. Of dreams and of desires. Of vision and of hope. For does it not say, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬? For does a destiny that gives us a future and hope not fill us with great and everlasting peace?

At the same time, the Word is also spirit and it is life. As such, it is the power incarnate for the spiritual to visit upon the natural its most profound and purposeful impartations. Which is to produce life, and life abundantly. For is it not written that it gives life to the dead and calls into existence that which doesn’t exist?

At the same time, by the careful and considered construct of words packaged as wisdom, the words of the Word are able to tear down every argument and stronghold that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. It is the truth that sets free, and free indeed. It is without hesitation the living embodiment of principal knowledge, and of real understanding and supreme wisdom. For does it not say, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” Jeremiah 33:3?

As such, the Word IS the principal thing. For are we not counselled by that same Word that, “Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” Proverbs 24:3? For it is through the living Word that a house is able to appropriate the fullness of the divine nature. “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.” Isaiah 28:10.

Ultimately, though, the Word is the single greatest love letter ever written. It is the very heart of a doting Father put on public display. In that sense, being placed on public record, it is a universal homing beacon and an individual challenge. From its high mountain, it says, "Test Me in this, and see if I fall short of one iota of My declaration of love for you".

And of that love, is it not rightly said, “For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39? And further to this, that: “as it is written "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived" -- the things God has prepared for those who love him --” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

     Awake, O my soul!

And let all that I am,

     Come alive,

     And in Your utter love,

     Forever thrive...

     And lead me forever true,

Into the everlasting of love profound...

"Awake, my glory! Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn."

Psalms 57:8
